Immerse yourself in the grape harvest, around Toulouse.

Harvest time is the perfect moment to discover the many vineyards of the region.

Fronton, Gaillac, Cahors, Corbières, all less than two hours drive from Toulouse. This is a country where wine lovers will always find something to enjoy. Here are our ideas for your oenological tour:

Behind the harvest...
The autumn celebrations organised in the vineyards, are an opportunity to participate in the grape harvest, to visit the cellars, to witness the work in the chais and participate in all the festive atmosphere.

Madiran and Pacherenc
On the third weekend of November the winemakers of the Madiran and Pacherenc du Vic-bilh vineyards open their doors, with walks in the vineyards, initiations to tasting and the Flavours Market.

Our partner in the region is Alain Brumont, a world-class wine maker. His Cuvée La Tyre recently ranked 3rd in a blind tasting against the best of wines worldwide.

The Harvest of the Thrillers, between reading and wine
Every year in september the town of Lisle-sur-Tarn organises Vendange du Polar - the Harvest of the Thrillers, which combines dark novels with red wine. On the menu : an antique car circuit in the vineyards, an exhibition of Sang de la Vigne comic books, a taste and smell workshop, round tables, thriller cafés, etc.

A website for your oenological diary
In addition to information on names and grape varieties, the website "Les vins du Sud-Ouest" lists the wineries of the region, offers recipes for food and wine and lists upcoming wine events. Perfect for not missing the open doors at vineyards, vineyard festivals and other wine fairs.

A gourmet guide to the Frontonnais
Last July, the association Table & Auberge de France, in association with the departmental committee of tourism (CDT) of the Haute-Garonne, published a guide entitled 1 Chef, 1 Vigneron: in which a selection of chefs propose recipes based on wines from the Fronton region. It is available, free of charge, from participating winegrowers and chefs, at the CDT and tourist information offices.

The Fronton vineyards are no longer divided between the Haute-Garonne and Tarn-et-Garonne: the two departments work together to implement actions and to develop wine tourism. Get on the road to discover the wines of Fronton...
